who are the top 16s

out of the midwest the teams would be (in no particular order) sports performance, st louis high performance, ultimate, and (im assuming since i havent seen them play yet but from what i ve heard) north shore milwaukee... the top players out of the midwest are still TBA since the only top teams that have played eachother yet are ultimate and spri... but yes im curious to see what the top teams are on the west and east coast are as well.

Balboa, Manhattan Surf, SCVC

east coast teams-
pace is coming off a top 10 finish at nationals and won 4 qualifiers last year at the 15s level. should be tough to beat again this year.
yorktowne picked up a few new kids-got a lot bigger.
rvc could be a sleeper, had a lot of talent last year, never realy put it all together at one point. if they picked up some kids and got it together they could realy challenge a lot of teams.
eden was also solid last year, interested to see how they'll look this year.

-all these teams got bids to open nationals last year. all i can give for now, the can-am in january will make things a little more clear.

yeahhh, correct me if im wrong but 3 of those teams finished in the last two flights at nationals
and i doubt they will be up towards the top with Balboa and all of the cali teams

SCVC is going to be good, top 2 probably

Riptides, not so good

highline, not as good as last year, lost a few starters, their ranked 6 right now.

how does everyone think the top teams outside of cali will compete with the top cali teams?... any predictions for a team outside cali to knock off balboa or manhattan beach or scvc or any of those teams?

Personally I want to see a team from the east coast or midwest make it to the top 3 or 4 at JO's this year...

from the east, Pace, and from the midwest, Ultimate and Spri.

But my guess is cali teams will dominate unless one of these three teams find a way to beat them.

I think you should throw in Hp and North shore i havn't seen them play yet but they are usually good teams

except bay to bay first teams....as tradition....they are pretty much the top team in every age group....couple of slip ups from a couple teams throughout the entire season and post season...pretty much they r the only club that is consistent in qualifing teams to open

You obviously have no idea what your talking about... especially with this tradition bs? Look at clubs in cal like balboa and riptides who through the years always have a team qualify in each age group and have a top 3 finisher every year. and othe teams outside cal like ultimate and pace who always qualify.. Jeez man that was a dumb comment... lmao tradition huh?

NVC in three games. So I think final standings were 1. NVC 2. Spri 15 Mizuno 3/4 Sky High and SW Milwaukee. It's all kind of a mess beyond that. 3 and 4 could go either way depending on if both teams went to three games, etc. I was surprised adversity elite didn't make it to semis.

we (southwest) lost to NVC in 2 in the semis 24-26 and 20-25, our startingg middle went down
in the quarters vs adversity 15s which really suckedd, but what you gonna do

Sky High lost to Spri 14-16 in third game in semis. It was a pretty weird tournament. I definitely wouldn't have expected the four teams that ended up in the semis.

Ultimate 15 gold didn't actually seem that good. Adversity 15 elite seemed a lot tougher (except in the game against you, apparently.) They're usually good though. It'll be interesting to see how Wisconsin and GL qualifiers go.

ultimate 15s gold looked amazing a couple weekends ago at palos so thats why i thought theyd do good,
adversity 15s were pretty good, in pool play we were down like 18 to 12 at one point and came back to win 26-24

is ultimate gold or spri mizuno gonna be at the wisconsin qualifier, ik ultimate gold usually is

Keats Stanley and Austin Kingi from SCVC 16QS are both top notch OHs, among the top in the nation. Just hadn't heard many players specifically mentioned so I figured I would.

You're joking right? 17th is not so good. We played them at the Qualifying Day tourny and they were terrible. Something tells me you're this libero. How else could you know the names on such a lowly team?

Great you are on SCVC and you have a good team. STOP TALKING already. You must spend your entire day posting on here. You probably got your ipod stolen because people hate you because you never shut up & post about how good SCVC is. Great we are happy for you! Its enough already!

Wow you're not a fukcing d!ck are you? I'm calling someone out on trying to make themselves look good.

Did I mention SCVC in the post? Did I EVER say I was good? Have I ever anonymously said my team was good? No. The only time I even mentioned our team was in a thread specifically about top 15s teams. That guy did though. I don't use my name and I've never said I was any good before. Before you say I just did, I'm not on the 16s team.

I'm also sure EVERYONE knows who I am. Especially guys who have seen me once in my life, which was when my iPod got stolen. I'm on a 15s team I doubt that many people can figure out who I am.

By the way, I check this forum for 5 minutes a day at most.

What team are you even on?

Adversity 16s aren't that great this year. They lost a tournament to their 15s if I remember correctly. They got fifth (or close to that, they didn't make it into the semis) at the sky high invite two weeks ago. They definitely aren't bad though.

On another note, results of the Sky High tourney today:
1. West Allis 16
2. Spri 16 Runbird
3. NSMVC 16 Navy
3. Sky High 16

No I'm almost positive it was this year.

Does anyone have predictions for the seven remaining Midwestern bids? NSMVC Navy has a pretty good shot, probably Adversity and maybe RTVBC. Judging by St Louis probably D1 and Mo THunder. Maybe runbird? Even if they all get bids that still leaves two left. I probably forgot somebody. Any thoughts?

Yes, just this past weekend, Lightning won in 2. I am not sure on the game scores.

Wow, that result kind of surprises me. I heard that North SHore was supposed to be this super strong team this year, and so far to me it seems that they have underachieved. Anyone know anything, maybe West Allis is a little underrated?

I was playing at the same time as that game so I didn't actually see it, but I did watch both teams separately and my money was definitely on NSMVC. WA didn't actually look that great most of the day. NSMVC looked stronger to me. Apparently not though. Two tournaments in a row where WA finished higher than NSMVC.

WAL plays a very different style of volleyball. They play with scrap and take some odd chances like putting a freeball back over on first contact. I think it just throws teams out of system. I know though once they play California teams that 'trick play" will be demolished. Lightning has a good middle that they run as often as possible as well.
I think in the long run NSMVC is stronger but they are still yet to find a flow. They seem very hot and cold. It will be interesting to see how these two teams do in the Molten Tournament.
jt810
Yeah Wisconsin should be pretty interesting. It's gonna be a pretty good fight to get a bid there.
