I know it's a good 2 weeks away, but does anyone have the Homestead pools? that tourney's gonna be tight. I'm way too pumped!

I don't know the pools but i know that the Classic 8 conference tounrey is on the same day, so no CMH, Pius, KM, Arrowhead, Muktown, and the wauk schools.

Will Chris Esser be back soon. I actually want to play CMH with full strength. Granted, Taylor played pretty well against us without him, but I wanna see how much better they are with Esser in the lineup.

What happened to Chris? When/How did he get injured?
Brauner4
He sprained his ankel in our game against Whitefish bay. He sat the rest of the day with ice around it.

It happened really fast, but we think he stepped on our setters foot and then it happened. hopefully he'll be back at practice on Monday. He said it wasn't THAT bad, but idk for sure.
KtownSetter10
Appleton North vs. Kaukauna @ Kaukauna high school. Show up if you wanna see some competitive volleyball. Man im pumped!

Charlie Williams also got hurt, does anyone know what happened to him?
still just watching
Charlie Williams got hurt in a nasty collision with the guy who plays defense for Rey. It looked like he probably got a concussion as he was on dizzy street for a while.

What happend to Dan? Did not see im playing vs Homestead.

Overall a tournament according to plan. The top 4 were in the semi's. A few upsets in pool play but for the most part according to plan.

Maybe it was just me but I thought overall the tournament did not have its overall energy throughout the entire day. Seemed very quiet and mellow in the field house all day long.

Dan's cousin, and our assistant coach, Gary was getting married yesterday so he had to leave after pool play to go to that. He was supposed to be in the wedding so he wouldn't have been able to be there for even pool play but Gary kept him out of the wedding so he could.

i agree brad i thought it was very calm there throughout the day not many loud matches or fans. even teams at some points

Hope all the injuries heal up...

As Foley mentioned, I had a wedding to attend after pool play. Wish I would've been there, but at least we'll get another shot at Homestead on Wednesday at Pius. All are welcome. The bigger the crowd, the better.
ParkHi

Idk if all the games were quiet.. I know the our game against tosa east wasnt very quiet.. it seemed like everyone was watching that game too... and our game vs. CMH got pretty loud at points too but overall I was actually dissappointed about how we played this weekend...

P.S.- Baker sorry man for ******ing at you after the tosa east match.... that was my bad.. no hard feelings right?

idk i was watching your match it was more of just alot of peolpe crowded in watching your guys' game and marquettes game too. but it was one of the louder matches. it just seemed not too exciting for some reason. sam were you there last year? i cant remember
The Truth
Thoughts from Saturday at the bay invite

*Alex (the sophomore) from Marquette is one of the best sophomore talents I have seen in my 9 years of watching high school volleyball
*Marquette is starting to click again, something about that Texas tournament
*The funniest moment of the day was overhearing Simon (tosa east coach) tell Rey "hey you have to play defense now, focus" This came after Williams went down
*Braun and Baker are the Elite in terms of Junior outside hitters.
*Meyer's shorts are a little short
*Shorewood looks lost with out Miller
*Marquette's back ups are not as deep as in previous years, one key injury to a starter and they could come back to the pack

(Sorry I did not get a chance to shake your hand, I actually was looking for you but never able to find you when you were not surronded by a bunch of people)

I would agree on all points. Alex has progressed very well from last year and if he could grow like 2-3 more inches I think he has the potenial to be the state player of the year in two years. The Texas tournament works wonders for team chemistry and Texas volleyball is very different then Wisconsin volleyball so that helps us see all types and utilize both types. I would agree that Marquette is not as deep as in years past. If they suffered an injury they won't necessarily be done. If one of there outsides went down they could bring in stephen and he would do a solid job. If hogan went down redman is a solid backup and would be fine. Middle is where they are extremely vunerable. Jeff Otto could not do the job that Fromader or Lehmann can do. He could do fine for a few games, but in the state tournament he would have problems. Mike Reese the other backup is not ready for varsity play in my opinon. More than one injury outside and they will have problems.

Ok I now I dont see as much as some of you guys do; however I cam confused about one thing. Why is everyone counting out Nicolet. Historically they are a strong program. Sounds like they have a standout player in this Bobby kid, and think they have a good coach from what I have heard. However, a shorter Pius team, and a Case team with one player but no setter are better than them. What am I missing here?

i went to like the third page on accident. thats from august. interesting.

Jack, where are you going with this?

Crazy night! Park over Horlick in 5! Prolly the best match I have ever played in. It was insane... we started out really slow and I felt like I was holding us in it for the first 2 matches maybe even the first 3 before baker really stepped it up and played to his potential.. Idk scores but ill give you my best guess... 20-25, 25-23, 24-26, 25-11, 15-9... somewhere around there....

Ohh and what was soo weird but cool about the game tonight was my dad told me he saw Bo Ryan there which was pretty dope.. but hes was obviously after jamel for basketball... alright but later guys im going to bed.
ParkHi

It takes more than one player to win a state championship.

The coaches poll sounds about right. I'm pleasently surprised that the Fox Vally is up there on the coaches poll.

I am riled for the Marquette-Homestead game. Hopefully there will be a big crowd. Luckly a good number of Marquette kids live in Mequon.

Did something bad happen to Kettle Moraine? They beat
Kaukauna at Middleton and lost to CMH in a tight 4...
gotta believe they're as good/better than FA and Hale...

You beat me to it... i am baffled that KM fell out of the top 15.... they really played us tight and like oldschool said we won a very very tight 4 game match... is there something there im not seeing? Like a loss to a bad team or something?

idk sometimes things arnt looked at by a match. we beat shorewood but yet they are getting hm and were not. althought that isnt as big a question as kettle moraines absence

Your going to wait awhile considering that game is still a week away.

Very disapointing loss tonight....North over Kaukauna in 4, games were very very competitive, until the fourth game when we totally fell apart. scores were somewhere around...20-25,25-20,25-23,25-16....

I thought we passed very poorly, but i also think that was a result in their strong serving, alot of tough floats....Good Game all you AN guys.

We'll see them again.
