i dont blame you but its ignoring little kids like this that makes you respected by the others on this forum. i almost fed it all up before and it took someone telling me the TRUTH to realize how bad an idea that was

Alex Becherer was under 6'0'' when he made it last year.

I believe Ace was 6'0" even, or a shade over last year as a freshman. Maybe it was one of those lineup exaggerations, but I know that's what he was listed as.

I'd like to believe I've established enough respect on this forum as it is. I don't believe I said anything attacking to Mr. Filtz, just set him straight as to a few observations regarding his statements. Again, that's enough of this. Let's get back to volleyball.

Interesting strategy here. However I did a little reasearch and the person who first made comments about your appearance was vballa4life, not the mask. I think he is your target here, will he be man enough to tell you who he is so that you can hit your line shot on him?

I had a late night class tonight so I was not able to make the Marquette vs Tosa East match, sounds like I did not miss all that much. When does Homestead play Marquette?

Late Night class huh??? Where did you attend this "Class"

Alright, you're right, sorry to everyone and anyone I annoyed and what not, I was real pissed when I first saw he was telling people why I transferred and then after he repeated it after I said that wasn't the reason it made me quite upset and I went on a little rant there, I'm good now.

Filtz, if you want to know the main reason I transferred you can talk to me about that, but please stop telling people stuff about me if you don't know it for sure. And congratulations on your 2 State Championships, not many people have that.

thats a more respectfull response and shows people that. he made a low blow its really hard to controll oneself when someone gets in a cheap shot especially a false cheapshot.

but doing this just shows you are mature and can handle things. and i know for one it shows at least me respect

Alright Dr. Phil... let's get back to volleyball.

Alright, thanks Taylor and Mike...and Dan, of course, as always has my back.

I'm done with that now.

As for volleyball, since the Blue Duke Invite is this weekend, are the seedings for Sectionals going to be coming out within the next 2 weeks?
Brauner4
Ok is it just me or is anyone else dissapointed in the Sentinal with the lack of volleyball stuff this year? I mean not even a top 10! its very dissapointing

Some people I've talked with have mentioned how the guy who covers volleyball for the JS is new and inexperienced, and lacks the confidence the last guy had in covering the sport. The other night, Brad and I were talking about why that makes this place that much more important to finding out info.
Brauner4
So this is the NEW Sentinal... Got it

the online version has links to the editor in charge of prep sports and to the authors, so if all of you who are supporters of boys HS volleyball would take a minute to drop a note to the guys and tell them you are interested, they might respond by giving it more space.

While that is all fine and dandy frankly the journal does not care. I have spoken with a member of the Journal Sentinal sports department. He informed me that the guy who was going to cover boys volleball quit after writing the preview to the season. He also told his editors that he should send someone down to cover the Racine tournament and they just ignored him. Basically the Journal is hopeless. However it was good to see the writer there last night at the Tosa East Marquette game. The only problem is he is a freelance writer and is not a full time employe of the paper.

This is really sad for Wisconsin boys volleyball. The last few years we've had excellent coverage with a few monster articles about the sport. I was shocked when I didn't find an article about the Racine Tournament. I find this surprising considering Tim Walkers dad works for the Journal.

The problem with the Journal Sentinel regarding volleyball is that the old guy left, and the new volleyball guy is an inexperienced free lance writer who doesn't work at the journal sentinel. Nobody has stepped up to actually put out rankings, records, or dates of games.

Ya my dad works for the Journal Sentinel. If he were to do any writing on volleyball people would take it as a bias towards Marquette and me. Also, whenever my dad bugs people in the office to write something about volleyball, they say "it's just because your son plays." Sad but true.

Yeah I agree. That definitely would put your dad in a tight spot. Hopefully the writing gets better throughout the year.

i dropped a note to the freeman's sports editor and he said he thought they gave too little coverage to boys VB, but also said that the coaches were sometimes difficult to engage, etc. a lot of this is simple economics so I wouldn't give up on the power of complaining.

OMG!!! Kimberly over Appleton North in 5 games? Wow the FVA is having a huge power struggle as of right now. Kaukauna over Kimberly Monday. Kimberly over North tonight, and Kaukauna plays Appleton North next tuesday. Even though i have some buds on Appleton North this helps us to getting closer to that conference title.

Well... err... Pius over Mukwonago in 4. They put up a good fight on their parent night and took a game off us. They have a big middle who grunts when he swings.

Good guess mask. I do play for Homestead. Unforutnaly you are a little off base in your assumption that I am jealous of Steve Meyer. This would be impossible do to the fact that he is me wink.gif I was sick of you bad mouthing me but what better way to see how is on my side then to bring up the topic myself. As was said, anyone who thinks I am a fairy, let me hit line at them. Game Over. If I knew how to change my name I would, sorry mask.

sorry guys i guess im slightly behind the times here on reading, but ^^ that made me laugh because i know for a fact thats not steve meyer, sorry sweetheart but i know that your not him, in fact he doesnt even read the volleyball forum so sorry when you all call him a fairy and threaten to send him back to his modeling studio he doesnt even hear it... shame kind of im sure it would pump him up for games or something like that. Either way "Steve" you should be careful because there are people from homestead who read this and know your not him... and not to mention you don't even sound like him.

PS. Rey-Rey im sending you love from up here! Sorry I've missed your games but I will be back to cheer for you, just as long as your not playing Homestead

My dad works at the paper as well. They put stuff in the paper that people care about. Sadly enough, no one cares about hs volleyball like we do, so they aren't going to put much in. They put things in for people to read that they like, they're out to make money... paper doesnt care what we think. Sad, but true.

I just noticed that both Tim and Kurt were featured in the picture for the Marquette-Tosa East game review this morning. Coincidence? Hmmm.... Just kidding guys. tongue.gif

Anyways... I have an odd feeling this year. I thought I'd want to stretch my high school career as long as possible, but I'm actually anxious for sectionals to arrive. I want to get into the meaningful stuff as soon as possible.
ParkHi
i cant wait either, confrence is fun, but sectionals is when everything goes down
THE MASK

A couple of things:

1. In all the excitement on the forum, I forget to review the last coachs' poll. I'll make it brief, the biggest 3 mover uppers were, in order; Appl North, no surprise here, but that will change next week, Marquette, back where they believe they belong and who now can argue and Kimberly, may not move anyplace next week. Teams moving down; T.E., what is going on there? They must have 4 or 5 losses on the season, CMH, unimpressive Middleton Tourney and Park, love the roller coaster ride you guys are on.

2. Newspaper coverage is lacking this year, but it is FOOTBALL season.

3. Maybe a week early to start looking at sectional match-ups, but who do you like Tosa East, Tosa West, or Shorewood? I still like Appl North, but with Kimberly beating them...

4. To Brauner4, I was at the Middleton Tourney, but was bouncing back between Kimberly and Kaukauna games. A few people told me that Rey needed help dressing himself.

Good Luck to all who are at The Whitefish Bay Invite! I am looking forward to it.

Quick side note here, Congrats to Whitefish Bay who won their first match in 3 seasons last night over Brookfield Central 15-13 in the 5th. Yes first win in 3 years, dont ever take winning for granted.
jmcdubz004
3 way tie in teh FVA right now for first in the confrence, and we have Appleton North on tuesday!! way too pumped. Winner determines who wins confrence.

I jus hope i can play then considering i haven't hit since sunday (cept agaisnt kimberly) haha
ParkHi
bay is looking tough this year. im pretty excited, and bored right now chillin in 7th hour.... so guys, who do u thinks makin it out of pools and so on...
MUWarriorz10
Hey Baker... was that picture in the newpaper? Haha time for guess the captain...

im guessing something along the lines of, "Even at practice, John Baker displays what has become almost a guarentee every time the junior outside hitter from park takes an approach: getting roofed."

Will Chris Esser be back soon. I actually want to play CMH with full strength. Granted, Taylor played pretty well against us without him, but I wanna see how much better they are with Esser in the lineup.
