any upsets people can see on tuesday? i could see Shorewood giving Tosa West a tough match, if Sam is on he can carry them for sure. Also, that Kaukauna/Kimberly match will be a good one, its too bad that one is so far away. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hale beat Pius either. Hale is a real scrappy team and they got some big boys in their front row. We'll see what happens.

You wouldn't be suprised to see hale beat pius? for real!? Sure hale is scrappy, but pius is the scrappiest team in the state led by the scrappiest player in the state, that of course being THE dan kowalske. If i saw the box score that said that pius lost to hale i would consider that the greatest suprise i could imagine. Yeah upsets can happen, but i don't see that one happening at all.

I cant see that happening because puis doesnt do to well agenst a team wiht a cuple great hitters and hale only has that one kid idk what number he is or anything but they can just dial in on him and games over. puis can get anything up. but they struggle wiht a team that has multiple big hitters.

I dont think that one will happen, anything can happen, but i think that one is a long shot. Brock is one of the best coaches in the state. He is all about fundamentals, defense, and conditioning. They have the craziest, best libero in the state, and a 6'5 outside in Dave who is finally learning the outside position after playing right side in club and high school til this year. They have a very good setter, i just dont see Pius losing to Hale, but again anything is possible. But that goes back to how great of a coach that Brock is.

Pius won't lose so we can just drop that subject they are to scrappy and too fundamentally sound to lose to a team like Hale.
But i can definately see Pius giving Marquette a run for their money. Pius's scrappiness will come into play for that match

Anything can happen on any given day... I have to keep putting it in my team's head (and my own, for that matter) that we can't look straight to Marquette, because there are teams that can and will beat us if we overlook them. Hale seemed to play some decent D, had one big outside, and some athletic middles. We'll play our game, and I'm banking on that being enough.

Well Hale did take Marquette to 5 games. Ture Marquette played like the crap the first and then played their backups the 2nd game and then slaughtered Hale the last 3 games but still, Hale did take Marquette to 5 games.

I think that the best potential upset would be Pius over Marquette because of Dan, he is a senior, and he is gonna be digging everything!!!! Marquette was kinda overlooked this season losing Mike Hutz and many key players but again they are number one in the state and you have to give them credit, but Pius plays the defense that can frustrate the powerful marquette offense.

looks like i'm the only one that thinks hale can upset pius...okay fair enough. i believe 100% that pius is the superior team with the superior players/coach, but I've seen both teams play this year, and I can honestly see Hale winning the match. Chances are slim, but I would not be surprised if it happened. Hopefully this gives Dan some extra motivation to win, because I really would like to see a Pius/Marquette final rather than a Marquette cakewalk over Hale. Aside from this discussion, probably the most exciting match will take place a few hours north of us between the FVA schools.

I believe at the beginning of the year you were saying the the FVA sucks and that we shouldn't talk about the teams up north,(hmm) becaue you didn't know what you were talking about. Correct me if im wrong but i dont think i ever said the FVA sucked, and if i did then im sorry for that but i just didnt think they were worth talking about in the preseason because i thought they should come prove themselves down in the milwaukee area before we go off talking about them.(which some of them have and they have my respect) I have been very suprised with some of the teams playup there, and i was narrow minded when i said they are way better rivalries because i havnt seen the matchup. But when te and muhs play in any sport it is so heated like nothere said. I remember around 2 years ago muhs played te at te it was sold out and there was something like 1500-2000 people there with no standing room. sorry for being narrow minded because i dont really no the rivalry up there but i would pay money to see a more hostile crowd then when TE plays marquette. Its insane. Also the TE vs. TW has been very very hostile the past two years in the sectional final. .As they call it the "battle for owning tosa". So that's another great rivalry.

I don't think it's a bad rivalry. But someone compared it to Duke-UNC. Right. I'm sure the Kimberly fieldhouse for a volleyball game is packed

Bad comparison is all.

He talks about how it's not a nervousness not to succeed, because he's confident, but a nervousness not to let others down.
