Since the other thread is 33 pages deep with information and now the season has started we should create 1 single thread for all the information combined from the other two.
Chris to answer your previous question. Teams that I know of in the KM tourney are Tosa West, Nicolet, Catholic Memorial, Kettle Moraine and 8 others. It is a 12 team tournament.
People should post other key players from their teams that do not play club that could have a big impact on the upcoming season.
For Nicolet
Jimmy Sweeney Opposite Jr.
Brian Ernster Middle Jr.
Anatoli Berezovsky Libero Fr.

33 pages got to be too much, plus it was getting way off topic (seasons for resurfacing floors, PS2 games people are good at, etc...), and there would be various topics being talked about all at once so it got confusing at times, so I think it was a pretty good idea to start a new topic.
As for Pius players who did not play club that might make an impact this year:
Mike Lee MB Sr.
Tyler Fringe Oppo Jr.

Well last year they took 2nd in this tournament for one......and considering they only lost their decent libero, and pass really well, i think that they could upset some teams...their big middle is their best player and has really developed a 100 fold since last year...their only downfall is that their setter is a shrimp
Actually i just rememberd, their other middle who will be a senior, might of played football, however i'm not sure, thats just what the kimberly guys were saying at league....

Ok, Jeremy is decent for his age. I watched him all throught out grade school. But he isn't God. You have to be John Baker to be considered God. haha funny joke. But he has to get used to the higher net and the faster pace of a Var match. Not many kids can make the adjustment to that staright out of 8th grade. And to just add to the degree of difficulty he will have to hit over or tool a bigger block than he has seen at Holy Apostles or playing club with West Allis Lightning. He will have to work very hard to get to that elite level of Varsity.

I agree completely. He may have the athletic ability to be a great player , but he needs a little experience to fully develop as an OH at the varsity level. Plus, a lot depends on the rest of his team. Will the setter give him the ball enough and will the passing be on the money or all over the place. I mean how many decent volleyball players are there in a school that has never had a team.

Yea, Jeremy played for the lightning, we have Jaime Sugar and Chris "Poke" Poccheva or however u spell his last name as the other freshman. Jeremy ahs grown 4 inches and we have our first match tomorrow in Kenosha in a quads. THe problem is our setting is not that great so were gonna have a hard time getting the ball to Jeremy. He has matured a lot since HA and hes even more athletic and taller. He will be an absolute beast this year. And the rest of our players including myself are pretty good. Most of the players played club and HA but well be hurting. We only have a solid 7 so I'm not sure how we'll do.

Fair enough - they sound like they'll be good. I'm a little biased toward Arrowhead, but honestly have no idea how they'll measure up. Watched them in a scrimmage in Middleton with KM, Ft. Atkinson, and Middleton, and KM was closest, but had it been a scored match Arrowhead would have won rather easily, I believe. They played their bench and were still winning. Ok I now I dont see as much as some of you guys do; however I cam confused about one thing. Why is everyone counting out Nicolet. Historically they are a strong program. Sounds like they have a standout player in this Bobby kid, and think they have a good coach from what I have heard. However, a shorter Pius team, and a Case team with one player but no setter are better than them. What am I missing here?

to answer your question truth. and no im not saying this cause you said case i understand exactly what you mean by yours and its a good point
but that bobby kid is very inconsistant and i honestly dont think hes as good as everyone says he is. hes got talent but not as much as everyone says. and our problem is the same as nicolets. no setter. but they do have a strong program and could develop one. but pius has good defense in their history and still probobly will. for case we have a new coach who some people have heard of and respect more. so it might not be the players as much as the coach making the players.
thats just my opinion on it so far. but good point

Brauner4
Aug 30 2006, 06:48 AM
Bobby is an amazing hitter there is no contest there especially with the way he jumps. But... just from watching nicolet this summer, ball control will definately be an issue. Brad knows it too and will probely work on it non stop till the season opener, but still if their passing is bad and they have a mediocer setter then bobby will be pushed off the net and thus not as big factor as he would be with the ball tighter to the net.
