it wasnt that crowded at lw when the game started then it filled up. provi students owned. def not bigger than the crowds at some of the rice games few years ago those were insane.

the crowd was loud and really, really obnoxious...but theyre not why we lost, i dont think they got in our heads at all personally..we sucked bad tonight and coudlnt get our middles involved which killed us, providence took advantage of our mistakes and made us pay for em.. we coudlnt stick passes taht we had been stickin for the last couple matches, and no one besides our libero played well on defense.. i personally should have gotten a bunch more balls up then i did...
to sum it up we played bad, provi took us out of our game and we didnt capitalize on any opoturnities we had for momentum changers, i am right now takign back any doubts about them being ranked #1 my prediciton for state : the winner of GBN vs provi will win state... once again good luck to all |

Exciting Times, these (well at least 3 of them) will be awesome! I know I am beating the dead horse but IHSA has to do something about the OPRF sectional. There are not that many programs in the state and there is not alot of travel time concerns that would adversely effect adjusting the regional and sectional pairing to get competitive teams from all eight sectionals. There are probably 20 to 30 teams as good or better than OPRF. They aren't a horrible team but they should have to play some stronger competition to get to the final 8. If you were setting up a state tournament for a sport with schools from all over the state then I realize that you will end up with some areas that are weaker than others but with almost every boys VB program in the state being within a small area there is no reason the competition can not be better distributed. |

i totally agree wiht you. but i've given it some thought. maybe the fact that wwe have a perfect 8 sections. to create our "elite 8" maybe it just showws that whoever wins their sectionals only represents the best teams from their sections. which gives some unique ness to our elite 8. sure they aren't the best team. and i totally AGREE they are pretty horrible. but still, maybe in time that section will strengthen its program and attract better atheletes. tahts all it is. we all know if basketball players gave vball a chance, they would probubly dominate. when the whole "volleyball is a girls sports" phase goes away, volleyball will be more competative then it has ever been. One day.

Congrats to Providence on the win, I dont know how anyone could say they are overrated but to each their own. I would've loved to see Sandburg v Providence play. Sandburg really choked with a big lead then blew it against marist. I think sandburg is a better overall team but marist won so nice game. if Marist had 2 outsides as good as providences they might have won, they couldnt pass and lombard & smallzer were the only one who could put the ball away.

ya were def. overrated piper o wait didnt u guys go to three to marist and lose haha Marist played so bad last night. If Sandburg would have played them with the way they played tonight, They would have won by 10 points. Gustos setting was awful. Tell him to stop being so nervous and maybe you guys can beat GBN. Everything he set was so far inside, pitiful. |

slamzit1 who do u play for? the provi game was the best game i think i ever passed in. on serve receive is was doing real good (this is lombard) you passed good, but your teams passing was not. You couldnt get the middles going and when you & smalzer werent in the front row nobody could put the ball down for a kill. If you were passing so well why were the middles not that effective? Daliege is good but not polack and the other kid is a sophmore you guys should have been able to do something in the middle. good season just came up short. And the reason you guys played bad wasnt because of you not showing up Provi just took you out of your game and you guys couldnt respond. Why does everyone think GBN will dominate Providence? I am not saying Providence will win but GBN isnt that dominating were Provi has no chance. |

provis passing better buckle down this weekend if their middles are taken out their oh's will struggle and their opp doesnt handle trash balls to well either. their setter wasnt great setting and offense wise last nite but made up for it with some swings n dumps.
