suprised, just like in jos how we are all suprised by the midwest teams? and hangning with socal teams juts like they do in club? it wouldnt even be close, high school teams insocal are pretty close in talent to club teams, expecially thebest high schools. i doubt high schools in wisconsin are way bettter than club teams.

i bet their all area team might get a game off to top socal teams, might

they could play agianst the girls socal teams, mira costa girls would give them a game

You arrogant fool. Just because you from Socal doesn't mean your automatically good at volleyball. North Shore, the premiere club team from Milwaukee took third in Nationals during my year so we obvisiously we can play with you guys and beat you. You vastly underestimate the talent this region has.

well obviously the midwest isn't terrible, but also they aren't great either. and cali players outnumber the midwest players by a lot so therefore there are a lot more great players in cali. and how many other midwest teams were in the gold bracket? my guess is 1 at most. the rest probably cali, i dont know what age division you are talking about though.

What year is she? cuz if shes class of 08' your way off bud....the best girls player in the nation is from STL. Casey Chernin. She the #1 recruit for the class of 08'.

QUOTE(ShaggSet @ Oct 8 2006, 10:42 PM) *

Doesn't Mira Costa girls have like 3 players who are 6'5?, one being Alix Klineman who is supposed to be the best player in the nation.

eden highschool has been state champs for years now back to back in new york, and a lot of their team consists of eden vbc, i think they could compete with some of these teams, but sense they aren't from cali no one will agree because only cali teams and players are good to you guys

It was our 16s team three years ago. Cali does raise better players because they get better athletes. Football gets the best athletes at most schools in Wisconsin. Volleyball at most schools gets secondry athletes with the exception of Marquette and Tosa East. I think Cali generally has better teams overall, but to say that the Midwest is terrible is horribly wrong.

the reason that there was only 1 other midwest team in gold and the rest were from cali has already been answered. somebody said that there is more volleyball players in cali then anywhere else. that would mean there is more club teams in cali which translates into more good club teams which means that if you take all the good teams from accross the nation (top 10 or so), the majority (around 6 to7) would be from cali. this is simply because there are more players which means more good teams out of cali.

If you took the top 10 teams in the nation at least 9 would be from cali. Don't even try to argue

You do have to give some props to some high school from the midwest though...maybe not this year but over the last couple of years....St. John Vienney from Missouri and Wheaton Warrenville South in their hayday of back to back championships....

I don't really know what things look like this year....actually midwest volleyball looks really down this year from the last couple years....I'm just saying in the past there would be at least a few midwest teams included on that list.

Yes vianney won another state title last year, but the Saint louis University High teams is ridiculous this year, we got murphy troy

i disagree. 9 of the top 10 would not be from cali. a team representing the milwakuee/chicago area has to be up there, and stl and NY are vball hotbeds. i would say def around 7, 8 max.

not even you havn't seen how high of a level the high school games are in cali the games are played with twice the intensity in CIF than in club and all the top teams in socal would easily sweep all those teams out of state 3

I would venture to day that most every poster here has not watched HS teams outside of their perspective Bubble. With that sais every statement of "Fact" that you all come up with is only relative to a small view .......hhhhmm......isn't is that way in life too.

No question that their are a few HS's in Cali that play at a very high level......they should.

Food for thought.

The Damon's team that finished I think 3rd 3 years ago in 18's - pretty much the Hempfield HS team from Pennsylvania-

The Eden VBC team that took a 5th in 18's 5 years ago and took over the top seed bye defeating the #1 Central Cal and #5 Adversity on Day 3. - 5 kids from the same Eden HS

The Yorktowne 18's team at this years Nationals hurt alot feelings of California All Star teams and Parents (Balboa) in taking a 5th - mind you that most of these kids were Juniors and primarily from one HS. (correct me if I'm wrong ....Hempfield again)

Getting back to the original question and topic - Yes it would be great to have a state by state listing of top teams.
New York State HS's-

#1 - Eden - Buffalo
#2 - Lancaster - Buffalo
#3- Burnt Hills - Albany
#4 - McQuaid - Rochester
#5 - Hamburg - Buffalo
#6 - Orchard Park - Buffalo
#7 - Canisius - Buffalo
#8 - Penfield - Rochester
#9 - Clarence - Buffalo
#10 - Liverpool - Syracuse

I think it would be great to organize a Tournamnet of Champions and get top teams from around the country to meet. The girls do it.

Getting around the Fall Season (Virginia/NY/Wisconsin) presents problems but hey...there is always a way.

By the way I did see the Greenhill Academy team - ok team with a very good 6'5 middle who actually plays for Missouri Thunder. They would not break the top ten in NY

CDM has 5 players on balboa's 18-1 team this year too. So they are definately one of the top schools in the nation.
