The first men’s volleyball event at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion was a triple-header featuring the U.S. versus China on Dec. 14, 1965, and served as the catalyst for the creation of intercollegiate NCAA men’s volleyball. Pictured here, greats Ernie Suwara and Larry Rundle both played in that era when the competitive game was just getting off the ground. The March 24, 2011 match between UC Irvine and UCLA was the last event in historic Pauley Pavilion before major renovations take place (see p. 52 for details).

This is too cool ! Is there a site that is a compendium of volleyball history?
Understanding the history of our sport could only help further its popularity.
