As an athlete, you take good care of your body physically. You run, work out and eat a healthy diet. But with a large percentage of the sport’s players competing outdoors, not everyone takes care of their skin. There’s no doubt that we all look better with a bit of a tan, but the sun does more harm than good. Sunscreens should be an integral part of a beach player’s game. Remember to apply before sun exposure and again every 1 – 2 hours, especially after swimming or sweating. There are plenty of options out there—physical versus chemical, lotions versus sprays, natural versus man-made and all with varying levels of SPF. An SPF30 is really all you need.
