The NVL’s beach volleyball academy at Club Med in Port St. Lucie, Fla., has hired beach pro Brooke Niles to be the program’s head coach. Niles competed at the highest level of domestic beach volleyball between 2007 and 2012, with partners Angie Akers, Lisa Rutledge, and Lauren Fendrick. Fendrick and Niles even made a run for the London Olympics, finishing as the third-ranked American duo.

The 5'8" Niles played collegiately at UC Santa Barbara where she earned Third Team All-American honors as a senior and ranked third nationally in assists. She later returned to UCSB as an assistant coach under volleyball legend Kathy Gregory.

The volleyball academy joins tennis, golf, triathlon, fitness, and racing programs at Club Med Academies.
