For the second weekend in a row, juniors players, their families, and fans flock to the Wilderness at the Smokies resort in Sevierville, Tenn., for the third annual K2 Wilderness at the Smokies Volleyball Tournament hosted by K2 Volleyball Club. Although the volleyball action takes place in the Sevierville Event Center, you don’t even have to venture outside to journey to and from the attached Wilderness at the Smokies resort, complete with an indoor waterpark and “Adventure Forest,” an amusement park of laser tag, ropes courses, and arcade games, as well as a variety of lodging options, restaurants, shopping and games rooms.
Opening weekend was Jan. 26-27, and 145 teams arrived to compete and enjoy the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Over the two weekends, 325 teams, 4,000 athletes, and 14,000 total attendees will make their way to this small town in East Tennessee.
Competition starts again Sunday, Feb. 2. Teams are each guaranteed five full games before the chance for elimination, and the tournament is sanctioned by the Southern Region Volleyball Association.
