With Tabi Love contributing 14 kills and six blocks, Rachael Kidder with 12 kills, eight digs, three blocks and two aces, and junior Mariana Aquino tallying eight blocks, the LIU Blackbirds ad a really tough time finding opportunities to score against the ferocious UCLA Bruins in their first-round matchup on Friday, November 30.
The only time the Blackbirds lead was at the very start of the match, taking the best of the first five points to lead 3-2. Then the reigning champs went on an 8-2 run and never looked back. The final scores were 25-13, 25,-15, 25-12. LIU ended their season with a 25-8 record.
