The reigning gold medalists from Beijing didn't quite have it in them to make it to the medal stand this summer. The U.S. men were eliminated by Italy in the quarterfinals. The Italians went on to receive the bronze medal, with Russia winning the gold and Brazil being forced to settle for silver.
