As professional volleyball player and two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Misty May-Treanor gets ready to head to London with her teammate Kerri Walsh, where they are ranked No. 2 in woman’s beach volleyball for the 2012 Summer Olympics, she is also sharing her favorite sandwiches, nutrition tips, and other original recipes with her fans after teaming up with the official bread supplier for the U.S. Olympic team, Arnold/Brownberry/Oroweat Breads.

May-Treanor is also serving as a judge for the Slice of Gold recipe contest, which invites sandwich lovers to submit their favorite sandwich recipes complete with ingredients, directions, and a creative name for review.

Click the Slice of Gold tab and upload your recipe and you will be entered for a chance to win a private volleyball clinic with May-Treanor.

“My diet is an important part of how well I perform on the court,” May-Treanor said in a press release. “I make healthy choices, but I won’t sacrifice taste for nutrition. I’m looking for a sandwich that’s creative and good for you, and still tastes great, too.”

The Slice of Gold recipe contest will be open until noon (EST) on July 2. Also check out this fun video May-Treanor made with the bread supplier. Can you turn on a light switch with your volleyball?
