Thousands of people are left without seats for 2012 Olympic events after tickets went on sale on Friday, June 24. That is, except for volleyball fans. By June 25, most events were sold out, except for soccer, both free-style and Greco-roman wrestling, and yes, volleyball.
The website selling the tickets was unable to keep up with the high demand for popular events, some of which sold out in less than fifteen minutes. A “second chance sale” will go on until July 17, but despite that many people who successfully applied for tickets online were still unable to secure tickets to their chosen events.
Officials assure disappointed fans that they will have another chance when more tickets are released next year after they test and confirm Olympic venues.
