Summa, Summa, Summatime.
That’s right, summertime is finally here. Time to show off your new bikini or board shorts and start working on your tan, but first you’re going to need the tunes to set your summer soundtrack off right. We all know the classic summer songs—“In the Summer Time” by Mungo Jerry, “Summer Breeze” by Seals and Croft and “Summer In The City” by The Lovin’ Spoonful—but it might be time to update your pool party playlist. Some reggae as you’re making your way out of bed is always a nice way to cruise into the day, followed by some Latin-flavored artists. As you make your way outside, crank things up with alternative rock that is sure to keep the blood pumping. As the sun starts to set, tone it down with some laid-back pop and R&B then party the night away as you put on your favorite feel-good electro-house tunes. “Summertime” by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince will always be a go-to song to set the vibe, but here’s a list of tracks to help give your sunrise-to-sunset party a little more flavor.
