On Feb. 14 the International Volleyball Federal (FIVB) awarded the Mikasa Corporation licensing rights as the official game ball supplier for all FIVB events. The contract includes volleyball and beach volleyball and will span from 2013 through 2016.
“Mikasa has shown a strong commitment to the FIVB and the growth of volleyball and beach volleyball for more than 40 years,” said Jizhong Wei, president of the FIVB, in a press release. “We are very proud to continue our successful collaboration for another period of four years, an exciting time that includes the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.”
Mikasa will become the game ball supplier for events including the FIVB Volleyball World Cup, the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour, and others.
