     Our annual prep honors are revealed.


Kendall Bateman
5’11” | Junior | S | Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach, Calif.)
Bateman, who has committed to USC, was an all-state tournament selection who had 38 assists and eight digs in Mira Costa’s state title victory. Bateman helped lead 2006 Mizuno/Volleyball Girls High School Team of the Year Mira Costa to a 37-1 record and the program’s sixth state title.
Katie Dull
6’0” | Senior | OH | Walsh Jesuit (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio)
Dull, an Ohio State recruit, had 34 kills, eight aces and 19 digs in the state title match and earned her third all-state first-team selection this season. Dull set single-season school records this year for kills (481) and aces (96). She also had 329 blocks and 65 digs.
Lauren Bledsoe
6’2” | Senior | MB/Opp. | Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach, Calif.)
The 6’2” Bledsoe, who will play at Florida next season, recorded 10 kills in Mira Costa’s state title victory and earned all-state tournament honors. Bledsoe helped Mira Costa go undefeated in Bay League play for the 22nd straight season. Bledsoe was an All-CIF Southern Section Division I first-team selection this season.
Juliann Faucette
6’2” | Senior | OH/Opp. | Westview (San Diego, Calif.)
The San Diego Union-Tribune’s player of the year, Faucette led Westview to the San Diego Section Division II title after a pair of runner-up finishes. Faucette, who touches 10’5”, was a two-time all-league selection for Westview. Faucette, the daughter of former San Diego Chargers linebacker Chuck Faucette, will continue her career at Texas.
Kaitlin Craven
5’10” | Senior | OH | Assumption (Ky.)
Craven, who will continue her career at Morehead State, is a three-time all-state honoree who led Assumption to three consecutive district, region and state titles. This past season, Craven was an all-tournament selection at Durango and at the Kentucky state finals.
Amanda Gil
6’5” | Junior | MB | Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.)
Gil, who had not made a college choice as of press time, led Archbishop Mitty to a California state championship title match appearance and was named to the state all-tournament team. Gil, who totalled 354 kills and 144 blocks this year, was the WCAL MVP and the Central Coast Section Player of the Year.
Kanani Herring
5’9” | Junior | OH | Kamehameha School (Honolulu, Hawaii)
Herring was named the Honolulu Advertiser Player of the Year for the second straight season after helping lead Kamehameha to the Hawaii state championship. Herring had 19 kills and 10 digs in the championship victory over Punahou. Herring also earned her second straight Honolulu Star-Bulletin All-State Player of the Year honor.
Dicey McGraw
5’10” | Senior | OH | Santa Margarita (Calif.)
McGraw led Santa Margarita to a Trinity League title, a 34-4 mark and a berth in the Southern California Division III championship match. McGraw, who will continue her career at UCLA, was also named the MVP of the Redondo tournament.
Kaitlynn James
5’11” | Junior | OH | Assumption (Ky.)
An all-state honoree, James was selected to the all-tournament team at the Nike Challenge in Chicago (which featured a number of national powerhouses). James, who has committed to Nebraska, was also a major catalyst in Assumption winning its third straight state championship.
Colleen Ward
6’2” | Junior | OH | Naperville (North), Ill.
Ward, one of the rising Class of 2008 talents and a member of the 2006 U.S. Junior National Team, finished the season with 431 kills and 180 digs for regional champion Naperville North. Ward, an All-DuPage Valley Conference selection for the third year in a row, also made another appearance on the Chicago Tribune All-State list, this time as a first-team selection.
Alix Klineman
6’4” | Senior | OH | Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach, Calif.)
The 2006 Mizuno/Volleyball Girls High School Player of the Year, Klineman led Mira Costa to its third straight state title. Klineman, the top recruit in the Class of 2007, was also named the state tournament MVP for a second time. Klineman, a repeat Mizuno/Volleyball Girls High School All-American first-team selection, will play at Stanford next season.
Lexi Zimmerman
5’11” | Senior | S | Barrington (Ill.)
Zimmerman, who will play at Michigan next season, led Barrington to a 33-10 record, the Mid-Suburban Conference East title and a berth in the Illinois Class AA state finals (where it finished fourth). Zimmerman finished with 795 assists and 199 kills. Zimmerman was named the co-captain of the Daily Herald’s (Cook County edition) All-Area Team.
